Special Projects

During my first summer interning at a company called Scraffic, I had to work on improvements to their device that counted people crossing the thresholds of local businesses. The device counted traffic data for the stores, and my task this summer was to improve upon the accuracy of the counting. The photo depicts the before and after of what a counter image looked like after I rewrote the backend code to increase the weight of the blobs and decreased the noise of the image.

During my second summer at Scraffic. We had to come up with a solution for the team’s newest venture. They moved their attention from only retail store traffic counting to restaurant traffic counting. To elaborate, we had to modify the counters to adapt to the restaurant’s unique setup. This included a measurement that would time how long a person had been in a line for, and how long they waited when ordering food. My solution to the order timing was to implement a Bezier curve instead of their normal line. This way we could move the line to count one person going in and out of a given area.

For a few months while I was still in my undergraduate program, I worked with a company called TimeClock Plus to develop an app for them. During my time I created an AWS console app from the ground up that would store error log messages for the company’s app. The project would have seen me adding machine learning to the app to dish out potential fixes for the errors based on previous errors and their fixes, however the program with them did not last long enough for me to fully implement this.

“The Game” was a project that I had to work on during a film class in my undergraduate New Media program. We were tasked with creating a horror film using a provided script with limited dialogue and with a very limited budget. I Love the opportunity to work on film projects, and so I took upon the role of director, editor, prop making, and even acting in this short film. I’ve used skills I learned from my hobby in film to actually create meaningful projects from it such as this one.
